Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul musician and singer. The singer has received many awards, like the Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nomination for an Academy Award. Andra Days is an impressive singer who can also write stunningly. In addition, she is a specialist in throwback R&B, her musical roots are blues and gospel jazz. Stand Up for Something, the 2017 track she contributed to Marshall's score for the movie Marshall received an Academy Award as well as the Grammy. Amen, Take Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday all have singles that are making fans wait for the arrival of her new album. Andra Day is the daughter of Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts and performed at Church. Her focus changed on the contemporary R&B and pop when she graduated and was later drawn back towards the jazz and soul singers that she listened to when she was a kid. Kai Millard Morris recorded a performance of Day, and later gave her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's music. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. Day joined forces with Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, grew a following on YouTube and signed by Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut single Forever Mine. It was quickly picked up by DJs who began broadcasting it to the radio. After signing with Warner Bros. Records, she began to work with producer Adrian Gurvitz on her debut album "Cheers to the fall" (2015). It featured the track Rise Up that became an song for the social justice movement all over the world. Day was nominated for two Grammys including Best R&B Album. In 2019, she debuted her sophomore record The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album on the life of the famous jazz musician. The United States against Billie Holiday came out in 2021, the year in which she was also featured in the film Holiday. Andi Matichak is a famous American actress. She made her television debut in shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her movie debut as Allyson Nelson on the horror movie series Halloween as well as its sequels. Andi Mattichak was born May 3, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
